Happy 8 Years...More Summer Fun!

I thought I'd start this post with a pic I forgot I took a week or so ago of Lyd's. After Brielle's b-day party, we came home and Lydia watched one of her music shows. One of Lydia's favorite things to do is play the guitar hero drums. She has now convinced herself that they are her drums. It's so cute to watch her play all the time...and it's even cuter when she's wearing fairy wings and a tutu. Kind of an oxymoron to wear that precious fairy outfit and rock out on the drums!
Last Friday the 23rd, Jake and I celebrated 8 years of marriage together. He had been out of town for two weeks and was flying in on our anniversary at 7pm. BUT...he had the worst flying day known to man EVER and didn't get in until 20 minutes before midnight so we celebrated for 20 minutes on the actual day! A pic from 8 years ago!!!
On Saturday, we met up with our buddies Anabel and Joe for the best movie EVER, Inception. It was so intense from beginning to end. A must see for sure! Glad we could spend part of our anniversary celebrating with you. Glad it worked out that we could see it together!
Our 8 year anniversary picture. I'm a tad pastier that I was 8 years ago :)
Since Jake was out of town, I got these beauties sent to me. Yummy!!!
I got Jake yet another piece of Utah Utes memorabilia! If all else fails, get Utes stuff and Jake is a happy man. Lydia and I made daddy a sign to show him how much we missed him while he was gone. Jake, you are a wonderful father and husband. I'm so happy to be spending eternity with you!!!
On Sunday evening we had a little cul-de-sac/neighborhood party. As usual, we know how to party. It was so much fun hanging out with everyone. I love this neighborhood. Of course Lyd's and Brielle stuck together most of the night. We had a treat table set out and the kids went to town!
When it got a bit darker, they set up and rocked out. Jake was entertaining as always singing some Metallica. We had a great night and great weekend. I love summer and all the fun activities that go on!
Here is Todd, Skee, Aimee and Angie playing! So much fun! I forgot how much I love that game.

Thanks for a great weekend everyone!

Week 2 of daddy gone...

My computer crashed but that won't stop me from blogging, no sir! I don't have all the pictures from the last week but you'll get the idea.
So this is week two of daddy being gone and it really hasn't been too bad. Lydia has had a lot of fun.
Monday:
We were invited by our friends the Newell's to Kangaroo Zoo for family night. So much fun! Of course I forgot my camera!
Tuesday:
Lydia went to play at one of her best friends houses. She just can't get enough of Madelyn. She loves her so much.
Wednesday:
I took Lydia to Discover Center for a few hours and she made some new friends in the Market. It is so cute to see Lydia come out of her shell and play with kids that are complete strangers. She would NEVER have done that a year ago. I took a cute pic but forgot to bring the camera to upload at in laws house!
Last week Lydia was invited to a fairy birthday party by her friend Brielle. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. Anabel really went ALL out for this. She made all the girls' tutu's and bought them fairy wings. So precious. Here's my gorgeous, little orange fairy!
They made little rings and bracelets, pinata, cupcakes and all sorts of fun things. Love her.
Here's the gorgeous birthday girl.
Here are all the fairies looking so cute. I just love having my little girl. She is so much fun and it's so much fun to see her with all these little friends. Thanks for the invite Anabel and Brielle. The party was amazing. You've gotten me so excited about parties, I've already started planning Lydia's in October! :)

And last night Lydia got to have a sleep over with her grandma and grandpa. She just adores them so she's had a lot of fun this week. Thanks to everyone who has helped me out this two weeks that Jake has been gone. You all are the best!

Farmington Parade...Week 1 with Daddy gone...Nate turns 1 Month!

Last Saturday Lydia got to be in her very first parade. Once she was on the float she was so happy to pass out candy and toys to all the screaming people on the sidelines. It was so cute to see her so happy!

Here's baby brother hanging out in the shade under the umbrella waiting for Lydia to come.
Here comes the Legacy Dance float!!!
Here are all the girls.
There's Lydia right in the middle.
It was fun to see her and yell for her. Thanks Mo for all you do for the girls. You're awesome.

Jake left on Sunday to NY for training so I realized I had to be a single mother of two for a while. I was nervous at first but its been really good so far. On Monday, I took both kids by myself to Lagoon. Of course Nate slept most of the time in the baby bjorn. Here's a pic of the only ride I could go on with a baby; the train!
Oh look, Nate finally woke up for one of the activities we've went to this summer. Since Jake hates the shows at Lagoon and Lydia and I love them, we decided this would be the perfect time to go. So we went to the new show there and it was actually pretty good. Lydia LOVED it and hated that it ended!
Thanks so much to everyone who has helped out this week and took Lydia and Nate for me so I could rest/relax/get things done! You all are amazing!
I thought I'd throw in this pic of Lydia. My sweet SIL made this skirt for Lydia and I just love it. Such a cute little model too!
Well, my little Nate is officially one month old! I can't believe its been a month already! NUTS! Time sure has flown. Well, there are a few things I want to remember about this kid at one month old.
-First of all, can I just say how strong this kid is. It should be no surprise to me since he was this exact same way in the womb. He was so strong, so early on. I felt him kick way before I felt Lydia and his kicks really hurt too.
When he got put in the "circ-restraint" for his circumcision the nurse had a heck of a time strapping him down. She actually said that he was the strongest newborn she had ever seen or had to work with. It really took her so long to strap him down. That' my boy! Future Utah Utes Football player on our hands!
Since Nathaniel LOVES to sleep, I thought I'd post a picture of his favorite sleeping position. He always has his hands right on his face or next to it. So cute.
-He finally loves taking baths and doesn't cry at all except for when I wash his hair.
-He is such a good baby and NEVER cries (knock on wood). Only when he's hungry and tired does he cry but the second you pick him up and hold him, he stops crying...even if he's starving. After he eats, he's content to lay anywhere and stare up and whatever is in front of him. Although, he does LOVE to be held and cuddled after about a half an hour by himself.
-So far, he's loving the binky. Lydia never did (she'd just chew on it). He loves the sucking senstation.
-He can already hold his own head up for a REALLY long time! He's not fragile like Lydia was at this age and I'm LOVING it!
-He makes the funniest noises when he eats in the middle of the night. It's like he's moaning; kinda strange at first, but now I love it. Lydia of course laughs at it!
-Lydia just adores Nate. She's always laughing at him and he's not even doing anything! When I ask why she's always laughing at him, she always says "Cuz he's cute!" So adorable.
We love you Nate and are so glad you've joined our family!!!

This and That...

On my mom's last full day in town, we went to Gardner Village to window shop and I read that they had a petting zoo so I thought Lydia would enjoy that as well. Of course we had a great time together!

Ok, so my mom has been into the whole Twilight thing for about 6 months and she's been trying to get me into it ever since. And I have 100% turned down her attempts at sucking me into this phenomenon. Well, after two weeks of living in my home and telling me how great the books and movies are, she talked me into having a Twilight marathon the night before she left....hey, it only took two weeks! Well...
LOVED THEM!!!! I don't know why I fought it so long ;) Last Saturday my sweet SIL went with me to see Eclipse (loved it)! I was Team Jacob before I knew anything about the movies and now that I know the story, I'm now Team Edward AND Team Jacob. Can't choose...don't make me! Can't wait to see how this ends!
When Nathaniel was about a week old my sweet friend Lynette came over to take pictures of him and Lydia. I think they turned out so stinkin' cute. Here are a few of my favorites!!!

Thanks Lynette. You're the best!

Nathaniel's one day old photo shoot!

With my mom in town for two weeks, I got a tad behind on my posting but I wanted to post some other pics before I get back to what we've been up to.

On my doorstep was a cd of all the pictures taken in the hospital of my litte Nathaniel. I loved the pictures so much but was too cheap to buy them but someone was looking out for us and bought the cd for us. You are the best and I love you forever for giving this gift to us. I love the pictures so here are a few of my favorites!
I am so in love with this little boy. He's one day old in these pictures and I think he's the cutest newborn little boy I've ever seen (spoken like a true mother)!I had to get the double chin shot in here. So chubby...I love my 9.5 pound baby boy!

Somehow the mama never gets a lot of pics taken of her because she's always the picture taker. So I think that's why I love these last few pictures the most. Just me and my little man!

We love you Nate! Welcome to the family! My friend Lynette also took some amazing pictures of Nate when he was about 1 week old that I'll post later also!

He'll be one month old next week (wow, seriously?) so I'll post his progress and his change then. For now, I'm just going to enjoy these pics of my one day old little boy!

Toy Story, Lagoon, BBQ's, Carrie Underwood & 4th of July!

Wow, what a fun week its been with Grandma Frandsen in town. So let's start from the beginning...

Last week we went and saw Toy Story 3 because we heard how good it was and it definitely lived up to the hype; such a cute movie! Loved it so much! We went as a family and even took baby Nate. Of course he slept through the whole thing. This kid is sleeping 20 hours a day, no joke! It's nuts how much he's sleeping. The pediatrician said I'm just one lucky mama to get a kid that sleeps this much! It's like he's not even there! I just love snuggling him when he sleeps; he's so cuddly!
Then last Wednesday we took a trip to Lagoon. It had been years since my mom went so we thought it would be fun for her to see Lydia on all the rides. We had lots of fun!
And of course, here's what Nate did the whole time! We were there for about 4-5 hours and he only woke up once for about 15 minutes to eat, then he was down for the count again!
It was fun to go and finally get to ride some rides!
Here's our cute little family of four!
Then on Friday, July 2nd we had our 3rd bbq of the summer and had some family and friends over! Jake smoked his AMAZING brisket again and it was delicious!
Wow, Nate is sleeping again...shocking!
The kids playing on the swing eating treats!
Lydia and Brock wanted to be like the adults and play badminton. It was so cute to watch them try and hit the birdie!
On Saturday, July 3rd I FINALLY got to see my Carrie Underwood in concert! I missed her last time she was in town so I swore that I would see her next time she came. Unfortunately for Jake, she was in town this time in Provo, at the BYU stadium (Stadium of Fire). Thanks honey for sacrificing and going down to a place you hate so much! And thanks for not getting into a fight with any BYU fans!
Before the concert, we found a park and had a picnic! Here's Nate and myself and once again, he's sleeping! One day I'll get a shot of him awake!!
Watching the sun set as we wait for the show to start! Carrie Underwood sang the National Anthem and WOW, she is amazing! God Bless this Country and God Bless those who serve!
I thought it would be fun for us to all wear red! I just love my little family...and what do you know?! Nate is out again!
Us with Grandma Frandsen!
Carrie Underwood was incredible! I just love her and have from the beginning of her career! She did not disappoint! She's actually better in person than she is on her album if that's even possible! I can't wait to see her real show with dancers, costume changes and a full set! She is definitely my girl crush :) Such a hottie and SO talented!
The fireworks were crazy! They were literally RIGHT in front of us just over our head...kinda scary actually. Lydia was scared (for the third year in a row) but after a minute or so she finally opened her eyes while feeling protected wrapped in daddy's arms. It was so cute! Way to go Lyd's for FINALLY watching them! It only took three years!
On Sunday, we had a bbq to celebrate the 4th of July!
I know....he's sleeping again...ridiculous!
Grandma Frandsen with two of her cute grand kids!
That night the Watts invited us over for fireworks. Nate had had enough from the night before so I opted to stay home to give him a break. So Jake took Lyd's over to have some fun. Thanks so much Anabel for the pics! You're awesome. And thanks Watts...Lydia had so much fun!
Anabel opened up her shutter and got some really cool pics of the girls' playing with their sparklers!
Then today (the 5th) we went shopping then enjoyed some dinner at The Pie, frozen custard for dessert and then headed to the park to play!
I know, it's getting out of control with the pictures of Nate sleeping. He's had such a great week of movies, concerts, Lagoon, Rage, fireworks, etc. and he's slept through all of it! Such a good baby though (how could you not be when you sleep all the time); eating good, sleeping great and never cries! We love you Nate and we're so glad to have you in our family!

The past two weeks have been so much fun and we've been so lucky to have G-ma Frandsen here with us! We love you G-ma and appreciate all you've done for us these past 14 days! So glad you could come to meet our sweet little boy and do all these fun things with us! So sad you're leaving but we'll see you again soon!
